The Waukesha plant was expanded in 2001 to meet industry requirements for both medium-power and large-power designs. The approximate 100,000 sq. ft. expansion provided increased manufacturing space, crane capacity, vapor phase dry-out systems and state-of-the-art testing capabilities. The current Waukesha plant is recognized as one of the most modern transformer manufacturing facilities in the country and is well equipped to respond to customer needs.

The quality and reliability built into every large-power unit is the result of over thirty years experience in the design and production of power transformers for utility and industrial applications. All Waukesha ® transformers are designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with the latest standards of IEEE, ANSI, NEMA and quality standards of ANSI/ASQC 9001 and ISO 9001:2000.

Five basic type designations are utilized to classify the types of large-power transformers manufactured:

• LS – Large Single Phase (all types)
• LT – Non-Load Tap Changing Three Phase (all types)
• LTC – Load Tap Changing Three Phase
• LTC-AUTO – On-Load Tap Changing Auto Transformers
• LT-AUTO – Non-Load Tap Changing Auto Transformers
