2009 and the first half of 2010 have been challenging times for our industry. With housing starts at record lows, electricity demand has waned from its peak numbers of a few short years ago. Waukesha has used this downturn to invest in the future with a plan for an expansion that will allow us to manufacture transformers with a power rating over 1000 MVA. We are not just resting on our past accomplishments, but moving into the future with new and exciting growth objectives that will benefit our customers!
At Waukesha, we pride ourselves on understanding our customers' needs and our ability to satisfy those needs with our products, support and service. However, we are never satisfied with the status quo. We are improving the way we do business every day. Our skilled workforce, engineers, administrative support and field technicians are all aligned to continually improve the way we design, build, test and install our products.
With the growth in this marketplace and the many changes in technology, people and competition anticipated in the years ahead, we felt it was important to define Waukesha's culture, providing a compass to guide us as we work to continually improve the products and services we provide our customers. We have named our culture The Waukesha Experience. The common thread in The Waukesha Experience that ties our commitments to our customers, our employees, our suppliers, our channel partners, our shareholders, and our communities—in fact, ties our past with our future—is that Waukesha will deliver on its commitments every day with the highest standards of quality.
I have included the entire document defining our culture and invite you to read through it and let me know what you think:
