Waukesha Electric Systems Receives Multi-Million Dollar Utility Service Contract.
Multiple Power Generation Sites Included in Landmark 5-Year Deal

Waukesha, WI (July 2003) – Waukesha Electric Systems’ nationwide Service organization has been awarded a landmark five-year, multi-million-dollar service and maintenance contract by Dominion, one of the nation’s largest producers of energy, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. The exact value of the contract was not disclosed.

Dominion will be served by the contract including Fossil, Hydro and Nuclear generating stations at multiple locations covering a service area of more than 30,000 square miles. The generating stations provide reliable, quality electric power for more than 2 million customers.

“This is a landmark 5-year service agreement for our highly trained nationwide Service Team,” stated Nancy Dickman, President of Waukesha Electric Systems, headquartered in Waukesha, WI. “Dominion serves the region through a mix of energy generating sources (Fossil, Hydro and Nuclear) which guards against major problems that could arise in a single area. Waukesha Service is uniquely skilled to provide 24/7/365 service and maintenance support in these areas and we are extremely proud to be working with Dominion to help them maintain their outstanding reliability record.”

Excluding major storms, Dominion’s 2002 power delivery reliability rate to its electric customers in Virginia and North Carolina was an impressive 99.976%.

To help Dominion maintain a high level of service, Waukesha will supply both on-site and off-site inspection, testing, maintenance and repair/refurbishment of both safety and non-safety-related switchgear and circuit breakers from 480VAC and 4.16kVAC to 7.2kVAC, including nuclear and conventional breaker maintenance for Dominion’s generating facilities. Safety-related nuclear breaker repair and testing services will be performed by the Waukesha Electric Systems’ Charlotte, NC Service Center, which has been evaluated and approved by Dominion for the nuclear services to be supplied.
