Waukesha Service to Offer Envirotemp® FR3™ Coolant for Transformers and Substation Equipment

Waukesha, WI (June 11, 2003) – Waukesha Electric Systems, Inc. and Cooper Power Systems, Inc. have announced an exclusive agreement in which the nationwide Waukesha Service organization will provide field retrofill services using Cooper Power Systems’ new environmentally-friendly Envirotemp® FR3™ coolant for transformers and substation equipment. Envirotemp FR3 is a biodegradable vegetable-oil-based dielectric coolant specifically formulated for use in electrical distribution and power equipment.

FR3 can provide significant cost savings and technical benefits when compared with the petroleum-based coolants traditionally used in substation equipment, including improved fire and environmental safety as well as extending the performance life of transformers.
